How to Post and Boost Agent Videos on Facebook
Follow these 3 steps to post and boost your monthly video ad on Facebook.
1. Upload your .mp4 video directly to your Real Estate Agent Facebook Page.
If you don’t have the .mp4 video file for one of the agent videos, please visit our Agent Video Directory. You can download and use a sample video of each ad, or order your own co-branded version for $20. This fee is to add your picture, logo, and contact information to a video by a third-party company, which meets RESPA compliance regulations. The video order form is found under each video example.
To upload your .mp4 video file to Facebook, go to your Real Estate Agent Facebook Page (business page) and upload your video by clicking Share a photo or video
2. Give your video a title, tags, and a comment. You can also change the video cover image.
Video Title: Choose a title that is short and relevant to the video message. Think of your audience and what would likely capture their attention.
Video Tags: Add relevant key words that someone might use in a search for the video topic.
Comments: Give readers a reason to pay attention to your post, and something to do if they want more information. It’s important to make this message short with a clear call to action. For example, “Are you thinking of building a home? Give me a call. I can help.” or “Click here for a free Home Build Planning Guide.“
Video Cover Image: If you don’t like the video cover image that Facebook chose, use the back and next arrow buttons on the current video image to select from 9 other options. If you don’t like any of these image options, create your own image and upload it.
Click Publish. It may take a while to upload your video depending on the size of the video and your internet connection speed. Your video will auto-play on Facebook because you uploaded it direclty to Facebook, which is what you want. If you share a link from YouTube or another video hosting site, your video will not auto-play on Facebook.
Share your video on your personal Facebook page, and upload it to other Facebook groups that have members who would appreciate your video message.
3. Boost your video for extra exposure (optional)
Boosting a post on Facebook is a paid-for advertising option. Please use your own judgement. Facebook has done a really good job helping businesses and organizations advertise to specific demographics and interests, which make it a powerful marketing tool if used wisely. The following are suggestions.
Steps and Suggestions to boost your video on Facebook
Wait at least two hours after posting your video before you boost it. Send me a message if you want to know why. During this time or before you boost, make sure to share your video on your personal Facebook page. Tag yourself and Academy Loan officer in the video.
Click the blue Boost Post button on the bottom right of your video post. If you don’t see one, you probably didn’t upload it to your Business Facebook Page. You can only boost videos from your business page.
If this is your first time to advertise on Facebook, you will be prompted to setup an advertising account.
Your first Boost option is to add a button to your video. I recommend adding a Learn More or Send Message button to your video. You can link your video to any website, such as your agent site or relevant landing page.
Next you will select the Gender, Age, and Location of the ideal audience for your video ad.
Location should fall within the area you work. You can pick any size radius around a city or other geographic location.
More detailed targeting allows you to select interests, behaviors, and other demographic information. This option helps you to be even more specific with your ideal audience.
When you type in a key word or phrase in the Add demographics, interests, or behaviors text box, Facebook will display the information they track that you can use to narrow in on your ideal audience. Use the Suggestions and Browse links to the right to find recommended key words. You can also Exclude certain people and Narrow your Audience with the links below the key word selection box. The goal is to identify the people that will be most responsive to your video ad.
You can also boost this video to display to your friends and their friends. Facebook limits “advertisement” posts, even to your own friends. You should experiment with this option to see what type of response you get from this group. You cannot target an interest and your friends at the same time. You would have to do this with separate boosts.
The last Boost option is to select your budget and duration of the ad. It’s alright to be conservative. You can always boost again later if it goes well, or if you want to try other demographic selections. Facebook will display how much of a reach you should get with your budget. Your post will show up on the page feed of your selected audience.
Spend only what you are comfortable with, and make sure to track any leads you get from this advertising. Select a duration that gives you enough time to respond quickly to any inquiries.
Let us know how your Facebook video posts and boosts do for your business. Please consider that the consistency of these monthly videos is more important than any individual ad. You want to remind others often that you are a top agent that understands the real estate market and opportunities. Following the A+ Agent plan will help you build your business through a consistent of the effort and high quality posts.
Our goal is to grow our business by helping you grow yours!
